The seminar is part of the EU funded ETUC project “Multinational company restructuring: tackling the impact of the
crisis through stronger transnational trade union coordination”.

The seminar is meant to analyse and explore the following:

1. how to best exercise the information and consultation rights of workers’ representatives from two companies within the merger process;
2. how to anticipate the impact of the merger on the employees;
3. how can trade unions best coordinate in the context of these re-organisations.

For this purpose, the Air France – KLM, FRAPORT and BA-Iberia mergers (and postmergers) developments will be taken into account as case studies. It is envisaged that the seminar is the first step in agreeing in trade union coordination guidelines on business consolidation in the aviation sector.

The target group for this workshop will consist of:

• unionised workers’ representatives from the British Airways EWC, Aviapartner EWC, WFS EWC and the AF-KLM EWC
• representatives from the trade unions affiliated to the ETF that organise workforce in the aviation industry
